The Monkey band was designed by the famous Meissen sculptor Johann Joachim Kaendler in the mid-18th century. Based on the satirical illustrations of the French artist Christophe Huet.
They were hugely popular amongst the French aristocracy during the 18th century.
There were 22 pieces in total including the conductor’s music stand in the original set each representing a figure in the orchestra of the Royal Court.

Here are the violinist measuring 25mm tall and the drum carrier measuring 21mm tall.
