In 1980 Mieke attending a doll making workshop and with these newly learnt skills began creating character dolls and
fairy tale figures. She makes figures without the use of moulds. Each one full of character and truly unique.
She takes alot of inspiration from the Dickensian period which is reflected in the small house and troll figure.
