Question

Susanne Newstead
As with many of the most renowned miniature artists Susanne came across this intriguing world by accident.
She recalls - “A friend who is a dolls house enthusiast took me into a miniature shop and when the lady was
boasting that she sold everything there was to be had in the mini world my friend piped up" bet you don't have any dummy boards!"
Sometimes called Silent Companions or cut out Boards, these figures were very popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. They were used as summer fire screens, pretend servants and visiting card holders — or simply as trompe l'oeil jokes to fool the unwary guest!
Susanne’s Two-Dimensional Figures are drawn from existing 17th, 18th and 19th and some 20th century dummy boards. Due to other committments Susanne will not be making any more boards, so these are the last few I can aquire.

About Karon Cunningham

Six years ago I didn't know the miniatures' hobby existed and now I travel around the world buying and exhibiting at shows.

In 2008 I found myself in Las Vegas visiting the CIMTA miniatures' trade show and 'Karon Cunningham Miniatures' was born.

Infectious, addictive, all consuming. There aren't many things in life......
